Quick answers for farmers, buyers, job seekers and partners.
Joining the Out-Grower Scheme and CFEP.
Fill in the Farmer Sign-Up form on the Out-Grower Scheme page. Our team calls you to check your experience, land, water source and acres, then a field officer visits your farm. Nobody is enrolled until the contract is signed.
At least three years’ experience growing tomatoes, secure rights to the land for the full season, and a full irrigation system with a reliable water source. Commercial growers need 5 acres or more; community groups need 10 acres or more, farmed together. You also follow the FarmMate production protocol and sell your harvest only to FarmMate.
FarmMate buys every good-quality tomato you grow under contract, at the pre-agreed price.
You are paid soon after collection, on the terms in your contract.
Commercial growers fund their own inputs, or buy them from FarmMate-approved agro-input suppliers and service providers. Community farmer groups can apply for inputs, crop insurance and technical help through the Community Farming Enhancement Program (CFEP), repaid from the harvest.
Our grower services team collects your harvest in crates, not sacks, and brings it to the Legon Post-Harvest Hub.
We are recruiting irrigated growers to plant from November to March for the dry season.
